Michael von Mengersen

Michael has been involved with Osteopathy for many years, being introduced to this field as a child. He has been involved working with osteopathic practice personally for over a decade being associated with a family practice.

Michael originally completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree and went on to work as a marketing manager in the corporate world and in fasion area for ten years before deciding to enter into the osteopathic profession,and for the last half dozen years has been involved in loccuming for his brother’s practice while building up his own practice in the inner city.

This broad experience on both sides of the treatment process has led Michael to develop a great insight into the treatment process.Michael shows a depth of understanding of people and experience in his practice.He employs a combination of structural and indirect techniques depending on the individual patients presenting symptoms and history.

As well as having a keen interest in clinical practice, Michael has also gone on to perform research and publish in the scientific literaure. Michael has a keen interest in the core stability of the spine and its link to pain and altered movement patterns. His research in this field (Titled: The Cranio-Cervical Flexion Test using pressure biofeedback: A reliable and useful test in the measurement of cervical dysfunction?), has been published in the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine.
